Best Start for Young People NEETS project
Provision of online teaching and learning materials in sustainability and STEM subject areas for those NEET young people aged 14-19, hosted on a shared server (Ace2.org.uk) across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Also provides training for teachers (inc. FE) in the use of web search to discover on line resources to use in teaching practice.
Clear About Carbon (CHEOPS)
Develop, test and deliver innovative approaches to increasing the level of ‘Carbon Literacy’ within Cornwall’s Public, Private and 3rd sectors.
Environmental Skills Network (ESN)
ESN is an environmental network that seeks to support the needs of trades and businesses within its sector. Membership will give access to free environmental advice & support and could also help with the cost of training!
Low Carbon High Skills Project
Aims to address the emerging higher skills needs (degree level and above) of businesses and employees in the SW in the following sectors: marine energy (wind, wave and tidal), non-marine renewables, low carbon manufacturing, civil nuclear (new build and decommissioning) and renewable construction.
Strengthening the Environmental Sector (SES)
Offer training provision to address key skills gaps in the Environmental Goods and Services Sector, developing the capacity to meet the skills needs of the emerging low carbon economy.
Sustainable Construction Training
Mainstream sustainable construction by highlighting the social, environmental and economic benefits of an ecological approach to planning, design and building.
Sustainable Tourism Management
Enables tourism businesses to examine the practical application of sustainable management principles in a tourism context. It also develops an understanding of planning for tourism provision. The course aims to support tourism practitioners in devleoping the skills and knowledge necessary to deal with rapidly changing tourist expectations of sustainability at local, national and international levels.
